My first novel is called "At Last, At Anchor".
It is about a national career counseling corporation from the eyes of four 20-somethings each going through a form of the quarter-life crisis.
I think it is a good book because it explores all aspects of what this generation is going through, while dealing with common questions we all ask, such as:
-why do i hate my parents?
-why do i dislike life?
-how can i survive while doing what i love?
-do i need to get married?
-what is love (baby don't hurt me)?
I am editing it on my computer right now. I want it to be published somewhere medium-to-large sized, but really don't care as long as someone other than myself gets the chance to read it.

Online Writing
There is a weird element about online writing.
At this very second, there is infinity all around you. An infinite distance between you and everything you know. By extension, writing online feels the same way.
I can only get so many people to read this blog, where I divulge a few thoughts on things in my life. When I put a blog post out there into the internet, it gets lost in a bottomless void along with the other infinite amount of data bits being funneled everywhere.
In essence, because I can never get all of my writing to everyone, most of the time I will be writing only to myself. But I still have to write so that if someone does read it, it's not boring; it's easy to read and understand; it makes people feel OK.
I didn't know what this blog would be about at first. But then I realized, there was infinity all around me.
This blog will be everything and anything I can come up with. I think I will be able to come up with enough interesting topics to satisfy anyone who does show up.
I have another blog called The Magic Notebook. It has random short stories, poems, and idea fragments that I come up with randomly. It's like a rich man's twitter account, I like to think.

Asterisks Suck.
I dislike using asterisks to hold chunks of information now, and much more prefer to use parentheses.
The problem with footnotes is, in my opinion, either you put them at the bottom of each page or you place them at the very end of the work. At best it's gimmicky, at worst it's annoying. I prefer my writing to look and read clean.
I think I am starting to get a knack for the whole "internet writing" thing.

Composing a Blog Post While Deriving
This is a very different blog post, because I'm currently in Calculus while frantically typing this up on my Droid RAZR. It shouldn't come out too fragmented, though*.
Today has been a fantastic day. I was able to focus and study my Biophysics chapter for class, I did well on a midterm, and I got a couple pages and articles finished.
I am hoping to finish the book** I'm working on by the end of this upcoming three day weekend. The inspiration has been flowing without too much trouble/hassle/depression, so I'm confident in my ability to get it done, unlike before.
I am starting to realize that confidence is really all that you need to succeed. If you can believe in yourself and then take the necessary steps that will put things in motion, it is possible to attain all that you desire.
And even if it isn't true, it somewhat works for me, so I will stick with it, I think. Now, back to Calculus.
Notes
*It looks OK for having been typed on my phone, but I still wish I had cleaned it up a little better with access to a computer.
**At Last, At Anchor will be my first novel, a magical noir novel about the things we do for our dreams and others. I have the possible delusionary idea that it will be a.masterpiece when complete.

I Overcome Self-Doubt and Perform
I have had this blog for approximately somewhere around a year, I think. It sits in a dark corner of the internet, not one word typed, the only hits it receives coming from me. I procrastinate anxiously and let it disappear, until I find it again.
This explains my confidence most of the time: it vanishes and reappears in different forms seemingly out of my control. It has found me again, and I have resolved to perform a poem I wrote several months ago at the Potbelly's near my school, Howard University*.
The last time I performed my poetry was over two years ago, in a contest for a slot in a poetry exhibition**. I didn't win in the two times I went for it, but I did learn a lot about the art of spoken word along the way. I am not really so good at delivering my lines with passion, and mumble a lot of my speech. My poems often read better on the page***.
As my first blog post, I assume this meant to somewhat introduce you to who I am and what I do and all of that. I will explain more about myself with each successive blog post, cataloging the various things I encounter in my life****. As you can see, I like to use asterisks to hold chunks of information that I think are, while essential to the enjoyment of each piece, more suited to orbit the work than inhabit it. So far, I think the effect works well, but I will have to be careful not to overuse it*****.
There are a few places that you will be able to find me throughout the internet, besides here. My good friends at nappyafro.com have had a home for me on their staff since the year 2008. I also have a tumblr, an instagram, a twitter, and a second blog called "The Magic Notebook", where I will post the random sparks of inspiration that I get at different points during the day.
I will do my absolute best to keep this blog running and updated, rather than continue to relegate it to that dark corner of the internet, only explored by me in passing. I hope you have fun; I will try to myself.
*I will be writing the majority of these blog posts either on my phone or in the iLab, either during the early hours of the day, early afternoon, or night.
**Howard University used to hold Poetry Shows during it's famed Homecoming Week. They have since ceased the tradition.
***I like giving the reader the passion and the journey on a telepathic level, rather than simply vocally. It is a more intimate experience.
****My life has a lot of different twists and turns that often confuse me and are seemingly hilarious to others. I am pleased to bring joy to others.
*****Too late.
